The Morning Tailgate

Well, Busch Stadium played host to some playoff atmosphere baseball for about 6 innings last night and then you could say that things turned a bit ugly.  So ugly that after Ryan Braun’s two-run homerun to make it 5-0 in the 7th inning, I was disgusted enough to throw in the towel and watch some ridiculous reality show on MTV the rest of the night.

Of course, that was probably a wise decision considering it meant that I missed the 7 run clobbering that Brad Thompson and Jaime Garcia took in the 9th inning.  So with that loss, they drop 4.5 games behind the Brewers in the Wild Card chase and unless they can pick that game back up with a win tonight with Adam Wainwright on the mound, it may be time to tip our cap to the teams in front of us as they pull away and become smaller and smaller.

No pressure, Wainwright.
