The Morning Tailgate
Forgive me if I’m a little bit less than excited about the Cardinals heading to Philadelphia for a three game series. Maybe it is the 20-2 destruction the Birds suffered at the hands of the Phillies in St. Louis earlier this year, or perhaps it’s the anti-anticipation for the first Mark Mulder start of the year.
It could be the fact that the Cardinals haven’t finished the season with record over .500 against the Phillies since 2001. But maybe it’s that Ryan Howard crushes St. Louis pitching to the tune of a 1.188 career OPS or the fact that he is apparently boys with Jared from Subway. Whatever the reason, let’s just say I’m a tad uncomfortable about this coming series.
Some morning links always tend to settle me down. Sort of like cyber-Pepto Bismal…
