The Morning Tailgate
American Idol starts tonight and I, for one, could care less. I have never watched a full episode of the show and I don’t know why. Is it because Ryan Seacrest is annoying? Is it because the act of Simon Cowell has been duplicated on every copycat reality talent show? I really don’t know, but my general disinterest in reality television is more than likely a part of it.Â
If the networks really wanted to hook me on a new reality show, I have a suggestion. It’s been a running joke on JoeSportsFan for a while now, but I want to see NFL media compete against each other in a love-connection style format for the affection of Brett Favre. It would have everything a television executive wants: unpredictability, violence, homoerotic undertones. It’s 2008, folks. This needs to happen.
